U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Richard Neely (left), the Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard, takes a look at patient rooms with Master Sgt. Neely, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Dena Ballowe, Senior Enlisted Leader, traveled to the upstate area to visit different sites where National Guard service members are on mission. Approximately 25 members of the Illinois Air National Guard were mobilized to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to temporarily convert Westlake Hospital into an alternate care facility for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms who do not require intensive care in the metropolitan area.
