U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Mark Paler, of the 119th Wing, delivers a Christmas gift to Alois ‘Al’ Praska at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, N.D., Dec. 11, 2018. Praska is retired 38-year member of the North Dakota Army National Guard. Paler is among a group of Airmen and Soldiers visiting the veterans at the home to share a holiday meal and present Christmas gifts to the veterans living at the home, which is an annual event for the North Dakota National Guard. The gifts for the veterans were purchased using donations and are given by North Dakota National Guard members to the residents at the Veterans Home to demonstrate their appreciation to the veterans who have served before them. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
