U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Tyra D. Everett, left, applies a compress on simulated patient Staff Sgt. Ana Nichols, both Aeromedical Evacuation Technicians with the 514th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES), 514th Air Mobility Wing, during an aeromedical evacuation training mission onboard a KC-135R Stratotanker with the 77th Air Refueling Squadron (ARS), 916th Air Refueling Wing, over the Caribbean Sea, Aug. 26, 2017. During the mission, which ran from Aug. 25-27, the 514th AES flight nurses and aeromedical evacuation technicians were trained and evaluated on how they responded to both medical and aircraft emergencies while evacuating sick or wounded personnel from combat zones. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
