U.S. Army jumpmasters, assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Co., 1st Special Forces Group (airborne), retrieve the static line after his Soldiers jump from a Blackhawk helicopter over Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., August 21, 2020. During a static-line jump, the Soldier’s parachute is attached to the aircraft by a length of webbing material that pulls their parachute open as they jump out of the helicopter.
