U.S. Army Master Sgt. Billy Beliew passes a slice of cake to Private 1st Class Savannah Gavin as Task Force 46 celebrates the U.S. Army’s 245th birthday on June 11, 2020 in East Lansing, Michigan. Symbolically, the eldest Soldier present passes a piece of cake to the youngest Soldier present, just as for years our experienced Soldiers have nurtured and led young Soldiers that will fill our ranks and renew our Army. Task Force 46 is U.S. Army North's flexible, adaptable headquarters responsible for supporting Department of Defense COVID-19 efforts, and providing command and control over DoD military assets as part of Defense Support of Civil Authorities in the event of an all hazards event or a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incident in the homeland.
