U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Cass Sean Jones, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and Petty Officer 3rd Class Kevin Malmrose, an avionics electrical technician from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, Oahu, prepare a case of unidentified remains, believed to be military personnel, to be transported to Oahu from the Solomon Islands, Aug. 8, 2017. The remains were brought back to DPAA’s Oahu facility for care and attempted identification. Of the 16 million Americans who served in World War II, more than 400,000 died during the war.
