U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Soto, an operating room specialist from Fort Hood, Texas, and Sgt. Mark Holt, emergency medical specialist for Brooke Army Medical Center, clean their hands and put on gloves in the trauma ward at the 37th Military Hospital in preparation for a wound debridement procedure on an 8-year-old boy, who suffered a knee laceration after getting hit by a car in Accra, Ghana, on Feb. 23, 2016. Soto, Holt and other medical professionals from the U.S. Army are partnering with the Ghanaian Defense Force to conduct a Medical Readiness Training Exercise, Feb. 3-26. MEDRETE 16-2 is the second of several scheduled exercises throughout the year to demonstrate the strong partnership between the U.S. Army and its African partners.
