U.S. Army Sgt. Darias Echols, a horizontal construction engineer assigned to the South Carolina National Guard's 124th Engineer Company, 122nd Engineer Battalion, operates a hydraulic excavator to move debris from Botanical Parkway into a dump truck in West Columbia, S.C., during a statewide flood response Oct. 14, 2015. Soldiers were tasked to clear the debris where the road collapsed due to high amounts of flooding in the area.
