U.S. Army Sgt. Jerrime Saunders, a Soldier from Bravo Company 1-26 Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, East Africa Response Force, assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), writes during the essay portion of the Joint Warrior Competition (JWC) at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Feb. 26, 2019. The JWC was open to U.S. service members assigned to CJTF-HOA and Camp Lemonnier, and consisted of a 6-mile ruck march with participants carrying bags that weighed no less than 35 pounds, a timed first-aid administration challenge, a timed weapons disassembly and reassembly challenge, a timed essay writing contest, a joint physical training challenge and a combat fitness test.
