U.S. Army Spc. Anthony Archer, a soldier with 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1-327 Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa's (CJTF-HOA) East African Response Force, moves to set up a M240B machine gun during a small arms training range at Arta, Djibouti, May 2, 2017. Through unified action with U.S. and international partners in East Africa, CJTF-HOA conducts security force assistance, executes military engagement, provides force protection, and provides military support to regional counter-violent extremist organization operations in order to support aligned regional efforts, ensures regional access and freedom of movement, and protects U.S. interests.
