U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Daniel Brouneus, Combat Logistics Battalion 22, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), maintenance noncommissioned officer and native of Corning, N.Y., practices guidon manual during a corporals course aboard the USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19). Corporals Course Class 1-14 is a three-week course focused on providing the skills necessary to lead Marines, and is designed to provide the war fighting skills, core values and mindset necessary for effective leadership of a team and subordinate Marines. The 22nd MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
