U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Conner Lavender, a native
Summary
U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Conner Lavender, a native of Harbor Springs, Mich., crouches before continuing a patrol June 26 during an air assault course at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The AAC combined light infantry, indirect fire weapons systems and air assets to capture and fight through a mock enemy force. The Marine Rotational Force – Darwin deployment enables Marines to more effectively train, exercise, and operate with their Australian partners, enhances regional security and builds the capacity to respond more rapidly to natural disasters and crises throughout the region. Lavender is a machine gunner with Company B, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, MRF-D. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by SSgt. Jose O. Nava/Released)
