U.S. Marine Cpl. Blake S. Johnson, far left, and U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Timothy P. Hanson attempt to disrupt a formation of U.S. Marines and Republic of Korea soldiers June 20 during non-lethal weapons training as part of Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-8 at the 1st ROK Marine Division base in Pohang. The training familiarized the ROK soldiers and U.S. Marines with non-lethal munitions and improved their riot control tactics. KMEP 14-8 is a combined, small-unit training exercise, which enhances the combat readiness and interoperability of ROK and U.S. military forces. Johnson is a Sallisaw, Oklahoma, native, military policeman and non-lethal weapons instructor with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF. Hanson is a Liverpool, New York, native, correctional specialist and non-lethal weapons instructor with the battalion. The ROK Army soldiers are with Military Police Company, 2nd Operational Command.
