U.S. Marines with the Logistics Combat Element, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin (MRF-D), Australian Army soldiers with 1st Combat Engineer Regiment, Japanese Self-Defense Force soldiers, and Timor-Leste Defense Force soldiers discuss the projects they participated in over the course of the exercise during the closing ceremony of Exercise Hari’i Hamutuk 2019 at Metinaro Military Base, Dili, Timor-Leste, Sept. 19, 2019. Hari'i Hamutuk is a multilateral exercise hosted by the Timor-Leste Defense Force, and includes participants from MRF-D, the U.S. Navy, the Australian Defence Force, and the Japan Self-Defense Force. This exercise allows the participating nations to improve relationships by working together in a combined environment and through the exchange of subject matter expertise.
