James Meyer, commodore of the 30th Naval Construction Regiment and Combined-Joint Civil-Military Operations Task Force commander for Exercise Balikatan 2015, stands to be recognized during the closing ceremony for the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Palawan in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, April 22. The 1st Liberation day ceremony was held to commemorate and remember Philippine and U.S. military members who lost their lives during the defense and liberation of the island of Palawan during World War II.
