U.S. Navy Capt. Thomas Bailey, Joint Base Charleston deputy commander, addresses the audience during the Pearl Harbor 71st Anniversary Memorial Service, Dec. 7, 2012, onboard USS Yorktown (CV 10) at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, Mount Pleasant, S.C. The Yorktown was commissioned in 1943 and named for a carrier that was sunk during the Battle of Midway. The ceremony was held in honor of the 25 known service members from South Carolina who gave their lives during the Dec. 7, 1941, Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other military installations.
