U.S. Navy Corpsmen examine a simulated casualty as part of a mass casualty drill Nov. 6 at Camp Schwab, Japan, during exercise Blue Chromite 15. Blue Chromite demonstrates the Marine Corps’ expeditionary capabilities in the Pacific region. Six Marines with simulated combat injuries flooded the shock trauma platoon and induced stress amongst the Corpsmen. A mass casualty is declared when there are more casualties than available beds in the shock trauma platoon facility.
