U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), Joint Intelligence Operations Center, Command Master Chief Jason Martin gives a tour of the command to Pearl Harbor survivor Ewalt Shatz, before a Pearl Harbor Memorial Ceremony. On Dec. 7, 1941, Shatz was an 18-year-old seaman aboard the USS Patterson (DD 392). Last year, he was honored for having shot down a Japanese plane with a .50-caliber machine gun, the first time he had used one during the attack.
