U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin met with female Peshmerga officers at the Kurdistan Coordination Center, in Erbil, Iraq, Oct. 3, 2019. Senator Baldwin and the officers discussed the history of women serving in the Peshmerga forces, their current roles, and reform efforts that they hope will bring more Kurdish women into the Peshmerga. Combined Joint Task Force‐Operation Inherent Resolve remains united and determined in its mission to degrade and defeat Daesh and continue to work with allies and the partners to implement stabilization efforts.
