U.S. soldiers and airmen of the 147th Brigade Support
Summary
U.S. soldiers and airmen of the 147th Brigade Support Battalion and 140th Medical Group, Colorado National Guard, conduct training to complete their CERFP [Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Enhanced Response Force Package] certification at the North Metro Fire Rescue District in Adams County, Colo., July 19, 2013, in advance of Colorado's 2013 Vigilant Guard exercise. The CERFP mission is to search, extract, chemically decontaminate and provide first-line medical care to civilian victims of a large-scale disaster. Sponsored by U.S. Northern Command in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau, the exercise provided the Colorado National Guard and supporting military units an opportunity to improve cooperation and operational relationships with their local, state, private sector, non-governmental organizations and federal partners.
