U.S. Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, participate in a transfer of authority ceremony with 4th Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, both with the 1st Armored Division, at Camp Taji, Iraq, Aug. 16, 2015. The ceremony is a military tradition that represented the change of command and responsibility between the two units. 3rd Squadron will provide the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve with Army aviation assets during its nine-month deployment.
