USS Peleliu Conducts Final VertRep

Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Brenton Calkins, from Loveland, Ohio, readies a pendant cargo line in preparation for a vertical replenishment between the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) and the dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14). Peleliu is on its final regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Pacific region before decommissioning early next year.
