USS SOMERSET, At Sea (March 27, 2017) U.S. Marine Cpl. Jeovanni Saucedo, an infantry rifleman with Light Armored Reconnaissance Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), executes a knee strike to the abdomen during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) training session aboard USS Somerset (LPD 25), March 27. MCMAP teaches Marines combative skills and reinforces the Marine Corps principles and leadership traits through professional military education tie-ins throughout the course. The 11th MEU provides a sea-based, Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting a variety of missions from amphibious combat operations to humanitarian assistance.
