HONOLULU - A crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Station Honolulu navigates along the west coast of Oahu in search of an entangled whale, Feb. 1, 2012.
Coast Guard watchstanders in Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu received a request from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to assist in locating a humpback whale entangled in a fishing net in the vicinity of Barbers Point, the southwestern-most point of Oahu. A second report indicated the whale had moved to Kaena Point, the northwestern-most point of Oahu.
