SPECIALIST (SPC) William "Bill" Tavares, USA, Womens Team Head Coach, (left), SPC Jill Bakken, USA, USA-2 Driver, (center), and SPC Tuffield "Tuffy" Latour, USA, Womens Team Driving Coach, will represent the World Class Athlete Program in women's bobsled at the 2002 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES in Salt Lake City. The team, with Vonetta Flowers as the brakeman, was not favored going in but ended up breaking a 46 year drought for the United States, winning the Gold over another American team and favored German team, setting a track record in the process. They were also the first winners in the 2002 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES debut for womens two-man bobsledding
