All equipment loaded here have been pulled from the caves located in the Trondheim region of central Norway and is on its way to Estonia for Baltic Challenge '97, a Partnership for Peace exercise. The US Marine Corps have equipment stored in Norway as part of the Norway Air-Landed Marine Expeditionary Brigade (NALMEB) Prepositioning Program. The NALMEB program contains equipment and supplies to support a 13,000 person Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) for 30 days. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
