Aerial view of the Malali District Schoolhouse, located approximately 75 miles south of Camp Stephenson on the shore of the Demerara River. The old schoolhouse which serves 45 local Ameri-Indian children was in poor condition and was selected to be rebuilt by members of the 820th Red Horse Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, NV, during this first combined humanitarian and civic assistance exercise conducted between the United States and Guyana. Military personnel from the Air Force, Air Force Reserve and National Guard, Army, Army National Guard and Marine Corps participated in the exercise which included engineering and medical readiness training

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
