Plaquemines Parish, La., April 1, 2009 -- Plaquemines Parish firefighters recently moved into two brand new fire stations--one in Port Sulphur, the other in Boothville. The fire stations and the firefighting equipment in Plaquemines Parish, was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. FEMA grants provided Plaquemines Parish with the needed funding that made it possible to rebuild these fires stations and purchase nine new fire trucks to replace those destroyed.
