A Republic of Korea (ROK) Forces Marine runs for cover during the combined amphibious beach assault that took place at Tak San Ri Beach near Pohang, South Korea, in support of Exercise FOAL EAGLE 2000. The Marine carries a Korean made 5.56 K2 assault rifle. ROK Marines came ashore on U.S. landing craft from Okinawa, Japan (Not shown). The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
