A KC-10 Boom Operator, 60th Air Expeditionary Group, Diego Garcia, takes control of the aircraft as he engages a B-52H Stratofortress, 28th Air Expeditionary Wing, with the refueling boom. The B-52H, with an unused GBU-32 (Mk-84 2,000-pound bomb) JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition), will head back to Diego Garcia from a successful bombing mission over Afghanistan during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
