CHIEF Warrant Officer (3) (CWO3) James Grayson, USA, monitors the ships Integrated Ships Information System (ISIS), while standing watch onboard the bridge of the High Speed Vessel, Experimental Craft One (HSV X1), JOINT VENTURE. JOINT VENTURE, an experimental craft, based on the Incat, an Australian company, designed civilian car and passenger ferry. Currently, it is in the research and development stage to be used by the United States military as a rapid troop and equipment transport carrier. JOINT VENTURE is currently on a scheduled six to twelve month deployment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
