Crew members aboard the aircraft carrier USS AMERICA (CV-66) carry one of three rescued civilian sailors across the ship's flight deck. Marc Dupauillion, Edward Provost and Allison Wilcox were rescued by SH-3 Sea King helicopter off the coast of Cape May, New Jersey, after spending ten days at sea in a life raft. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
