The 86th Airlift Wing Honor Guard, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, render honors to two fallen pilots from RAF Mildenhall, UK, during a fallen soldier ceremony on April 4, 2001. Lieutenant Colonel (LCOL) Kenneth Hyvonen, USAF, 48th Operations Squadron, and Captain (CAPT) Kirk Jones, USAF, 493rd Fighter Squadron, disappeared off radar over Northern Scotland March 26. Search and rescue teams found the F-15C's wreckage and LCOL Hyvonen on March 27th and located CAPT Jones on March 28th. Investigations into the cause of the incident are still ongoing

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
