A Marine holds a bag of waste bottles while scanning for more during the Camp Hansen Single Marine Program's Kin clean up, June 10. The areas cleaned up by nearly 100 Marines were central Kin Town and Kin Red Beach.

At approximately 11:45 PM (JST), The bodies of three US service members arrived at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, onboard a C-130 Hercules. An Army and Air Force joint honor guard team, whose members are stationed at Okinawa, rendered honors upon their return. Names are being with held pending notification to next of kin. The three were recovered from the crash of a US Army MH-47E Chinook in the Bohol Sea near the island of Apo. The Chinook carried eight US Army personnel, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and two US Air Force para-rescue jumpers, 320th Special Tactics Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
