Captain Thom Gilster, a C-130 Hercules pilot with the 37th Airlift Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, looks over his shoulder as he pulls into the ninth and last position on the end of the runway for a minimum separation take-off. A minimum separation take-off allow all of the aircraft to line up on the runway. Shortly after the first aircraft lifts-off then the next aircraft begins its' take-off roll. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
