A U.S. Air Force (USAF) member with the 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., checks the interior of a USAF C-141B Starlifter cargo aircraft during the recovery of the aircraft after a local flight on Sept. 1, 2004. The McGuire C-141B Starlifter, tail number 40633 returned to the base after its final mission flight with crewmembers from the 6th Airlift Squadron, 305th Air Mobility Wing and the 732nd Airlift Squadron, 514th Air Mobility Wing. The Starlifter is being retired from the"active duty"Air Force inventory on Sept. 16, 2004 after 40 years of service and nearly nine million flying hours.
