US Navy Captain Kolin M. Jan, Commander Carrier Air Wing Seven (CVW-7), rejoices with his wife and daughter, as elements of the air wing return to Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia, after a six month deployment on board the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73). CVW-7 embarked on board George Washington completed a regularly scheduled deployment to the Mediterranean, which included operations in the Adriatic Sea and Persian Gulf. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
