The US Navy (USN) Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), the newest in its class, sails by the historic STAR OF INDIA bark in San Diego Bay, on its way to its homeport at Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) in San Diego. The USS REAGAN departed Norfolk in May, and underway for nearly two months traveling around the tip of South America. During the transit, the strike group conducted bilateral training and air engagement exercises with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay in support of SUMMER PULSE 2004. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
