After a crash landing a 37th Tactical Airlift Squadron C-130E at Biebelstadt Army Airfield, Germany, recovery team personnel offload a flat bed trailer, with support gear, under the left wing. Buffeted by high winds on final approach the landing gear collapsed and the number one engine caught fire on touchdown. The propeller disintegrated, three crewmembers were injured, there were no fatalities. Exact Date Shot Unknown

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
