Members of the Alaska Army National Guard and the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum (AAHM) rig an OA-10 PBY Catalina flying boat for airlift by a CH-54B Tahre during a recovery operation initiated by the AAHM. The historic aircraft was abandoned by the Air Force after engine trouble forced it down at Dago Lake on September 30, 1947. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
