As seen through a night vision lens, two F-15E Strike Eagles from the 494th Fighter Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, UK, taxi down runway for take off. Due to the extended periods of darkness during the winter months, the base shifted to night operations as of September 10th and will continue through March. US Air Force Captain Leland Bohannon, a C-5 pilot from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, deployed here as a French linguist, introduces French Air Force officers to the crew of a C-17 Globemaster that arrived today to participate in this French Air Base 25, Istres, Air Show. The C-17 is from Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, temporarily assigned to Ramstein Air Base, Germany. CPT Bohannon is serving a 90-day deployment as a linguist with the 16th Expeditionary Operations Group, a small US Air Force detachment on the base.
