Alakanuk, Alaska, July 16, 2013 -- Outboard motors, 4 wheelers, and trophy horns compose a debris pile at this residents home along the Yukon river after severe flooding innundated the community and leaving a wake of damage.  Federal funding in the form of Individual Assistance (IA) and Public Assistance (PA) is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certian nonprofit organizationson a cost sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the flooding in the Alaska Gateway Regional Educational Attendance Area (REAA), Copper River REAA, Lower Yukon REAA, Yukon Flats REAA, and the Yukon-Koyukuk REAA. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
