A soldier models the polyester batting jacket liner and field trousers worn with other elements of the extended cold weather clothing system (ECWCS). The ECWCS has been designed by the U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center to provide environmental protection from minus 40 to 60 degrees above zero, easy adjustability of clothing layers, and a new principle of moisture management.
