Ceremonies and Parades - First photo of U.S. Army men marching thru London. A great public welcome was given to a regiment of American troops consisting of three battalions of the new army who marched thru London on May 11, 1918. They passed Buckingham Palace on their route, where the king, who wore a field marshal's uniform, stood with General Biddle, U.S.A. In this photo the troops are shown passing along Carlton House Terrace
