CGC MIDGETT'S DEPLOYMENT W/USS CONSTELLATION
Summary
Arabian Gulf (July 27)--A member of the Explosive Ordinance Detachment Team from the USS Pelelui repels to the CGC Midgett (WHEC 721) while underway in the Indian Ocean. The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Midgett departed homeport of Seattle Washington on June 18, 1999, to deploy with the USS Constellation Battle Group to the Persian Gulf. The Midgett is the first Coast Guard cutter to deploy to the Gulf with a U.S. Navy Battle Group. Once in the Gulf, the Midgetts primary mission is to enforce the United Nation's sanctions that arein place. USCG photo by PA2 Alice Sennott
