Hurricane/Tropical Storm - New Orleans, La. , July 19, 2011 -- The Louisiana Recovery Office recently hosted 17 delegates from various countries in East Asia as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program sponsored by the U. S. Department of State. The delegates, who are all either emergency medical or emergency management officials in their respective countries, came to the U. S. to learn about emergency response and recovery of disasters. The delegates heard presentations about general recovery efforts after hurricanes Katrina and Rita from Acting Executive Director Joseph Threat and other FEMA officials in New Orleans.
