Meeting the troops during on deployment, Assistant Division Commander for Operations COL (P) John Scroggins, 101st Airborne Division, visits soldiers of the 3rd Brigade at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin. The soldiers wear MILES (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) gear on their helmets and upper body, to simulate combat conditions. When shot electronically, it instills a real sense of the danger in combat without injury or fatality.
