Summary
The Award of the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal with "60" Device, as well as the Combat Infantryman's Badge was presented to retired Spc. Charles Sharp of Mulliken, Mich., for his service with E Company, 1 Battalion 508th Infantry Regiment in the Republic of Vietnam, 1968-1969. Charlie earned all of these awards but they were never presented to him. He did not realize he had been awarded these until his records were pulled to help him file a VA claim. The awards were presented by MG Gregory J. Vadnais, the adjutant general of Michigan, during the St. Barbara Day Dining in Dec. 1, 2012. ( photos by SSG Helen Miller, MIARNG)
