The US Navy (USN) Sea Wolf Class Attack Submarine USS JIMMY CARTER (SSN 23) nudged toward the pier by Alpha Marine Services C-Tractor tugs on its arrival at Kings Bay following a one-night underway that included an embark by former US President James E. Carter (on bridge) and his wife, Rosalynn. This was the first underway period on a submarine for the former president since ending his naval career in 1953. The USS JIMMY CARTER is the third Sea Wolf-class attack submarine
