150417-N-CC789-095 SAN DIEGO (April 17, 2015) Ship's Fire Marshall Senior Chief Damage Controlman Richard Lopez, middle, assesses a firefighting hose-team using a Naval Infrared Firefighting Thermal Imager (NIFTI) to detect hot spots during a main space damage control drill aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). The ship is currently in a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA). Somerset is named in honor of the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pa., in Somerset County during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
